What 3 Things Should I Do to Improve Google Search Rankings for Legal Websites?

Want to know how to improve google search ranking for legal websites?

Your primary goal when creating a website is for the site to get attention from potential clients. For this to occur, your site needs to rank high in Google and other search engines. This requires understanding (as much as anyone can) and appealing to Google’s algorithm.

Google’s algorithm is the system it uses to determine what it will provide to users based on usefulness and relevancy. The more useful and relevant search engines consider your site the higher it will rank.

How do you improve your relevancy and increase your Google ranking?

The most important thing you can do is to simplify the process for Google. Search engines must be able to easily crawl your site and understand what it’s about.

In addition to the basics… adding fresh content, making your site easily readable, being clear about your intentions… what are three important things you can do to improve your Google ranking?

1. Use Anchor Text in Your URLs

A lot of people consider this basic, but for people who don’t focus on SEO full-time, including attorneys, it’s useful advice. Not to mention how few people actually put it into action.

You should always try to use keywords in your URLs whenever possible. For example, if your keyword is “personal injury attorneys in Colorado,” you’re SEO title would be https://www.nameofyourfirm.com/personal-injury-attorneys-colorado for a given URL.

The reason this works well is that Google uses anchor text in many of its ranking signals, so including them in your URLs will improve them in various ways.

2. Have Unique Meta Descriptions

Meta descriptions don’t seem to affect rankings directly, but they do influence click-through rates (CTR). CTR is a ranking factor (especially for commercial queries).

This means that you should make sure your meta description is unique and well written. This is especially true for smaller sites that don’t have thousands and thousands of pages.

Always use primary keywords in meta tags and alt tags of each page because it helps Google to determine what the web page is all about.

Write a meta description that describes the topic of your webpage so that it attracts more views and a higher google ranking.

3. Increase Your Site’s Backlinks

Link Building is another important factor for better rankings because Google looks at backlinks to determine the popularity of websites and web pages. A good way to get relevant links is through guest blogging on high PR websites.

Backlinks still matter and they will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. Think about where most of your organic traffic comes from. It’s might not be directly from Google. In many cases, it’s from other websites related to your business.

Building backlinks helps you increase organic traffic from people searching for the information or services you provide. And the more organic traffic you get the higher Google ranks you.
